Reflection
It is important to encourage creativity, innovation, and collaboration in students because it is out of these that new ideas and concepts are created. This standard address teachers’ ability to use technology to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration in the students as well as the ability to engage students in learning whether it is face to face or in a virtual classroom. I think that Google Docs, Google Slide, Padlet, and Edpuzzle fit the best with this standard. Both Google Docs and Google Slide allow for students to collaborate with one another on projects and other assignments. Having students create a Google Slide presentation, or even write a story on Google Docs also allows for them to tap into their creative side. Padlet is also another great collaboration tool that students can use to share videos, files, and other resources with one another. Along with Google Docs and Google Slides, Edpuzzle is a great way to deliver new content to students that will engage students in their learning. Edpuzzle is a creative tool where students answer questions in an interactive video where students can answer questions as they follow along to make sure that they understand the content.
In my future classroom, I hope to incorporate many of these tools that I have learned especially ones that foster students’ creativity, innovations, and collaboration skills. This class provided me with many tools that I can use to accomplish this and as technology changes, I will continue to look for new ways and tools to do so.
